The East Alabama Mental Health Center is a nonprofit community mental health center located in the Auburn - Opelika area, serving the comprehensive mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities needs of Lee, Russell, Chambers, and Tallapoosa counties. We are actively recruiting to fill the Director of Accounting and Finance role within our organization.
The Director of Accounting and Finance will effectively oversee and direct the day-to-day financial operations for the Center. This position will serve as a key strategic partner alongside the CEO, COO, and Senior Clinical Directors, ensuring fiscal responsibility, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment. The ideal candidate will round out our senior team by being highly strategic, analytical, and objective. Candidates must have an exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex data and concepts to a wide range of staff.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
1. Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for executive management, the board of directors, and regulatory authorities
2. Payroll processing and reporting
3. Labor analytics and reporting
4. General ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable
5. Budget development and monitoring
6. Facilities planning – leases, capital projects, and acquisitions
7. Fleet management
8. Contracts and grants management and administration
9. Adherence to generally accepted accounting principles
10. Financial and operational reporting – both internal and external
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree strongly preferred. 10+ years’ experience.
CPA strongly preferred.
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills required.
