Senior Director, Corporate Development

Summary:

This position plays a critical role in Point Broadband’s corporate development efforts. The Senior Director will be responsible for overseeing grant application and fulfillment activities that support existing and planned development opportunities. Also, the Senior Director will lead multiple aspects of M&A transactions, including compliance with laws and regulations and the organization of pre/post-acquisition activities required to ensure successful integration and deliver the business case.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to:

   Grant Application and Fulfillment

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive grant-seeking strategy aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Research funding opportunities, develop grant proposals, and cultivate relationships with grant-making organizations.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and applications that effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and impact.
  • Research and track grant opportunities, staying informed about relevant grant programs and deadlines.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with all grant-related regulations, expenditures, and reporting obligations.
  • Assist in financial reporting and grant-related budget management.

   Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Impact company revenue and profitability by executing inorganic growth targets and influencing decisions that lead to long-term profitability for the acquired company and corresponding business/region.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments on potential M&A targets.
  • Participate in the evaluation and integration of acquired companies.
  • Advise senior leadership and cross-functional teams on matters related to M&A deals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in processes related to M&A deals.
  • Oversee various aspects of Point Broadband’s M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate dialogue and organizational alignment around whether to pursue deals based on diligence, risk, growth potential, financial modeling, and strategic intent.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support Point Broadband's growth through strategic mergers and acquisitions.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Finance, or related field of study is required. An MBA or other graduate degree is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant M&A experience is required. Telecommunications experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience identifying, targeting and analyzing potential small and large business opportunities.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in grant writing and grant management.
  • Strong strategic analysis, with ability to build and communicate strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage large business engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability with driving new business tied to individual efforts.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate with other executive level business development colleagues and counterparts.
  • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, Internet software and e-mail.
