Position Overview

Miele Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support operations at the Opelika Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of production processes, components, and finished products by identifying issues, conducting analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions that support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance of production processes and suppliers by identifying, evaluating, and resolving quality deviations
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (e.g., 8D, escalation, claims, and complaint management)
• Design and conduct quality checks across production processes, including:
  • Incoming goods inspection
  • Functional testing of products, modules, and components
  • Endurance and reliability testing
  • Process capability control (SPC)
  • Regular measurements (destructive and non-destructive)
• Coordinate and participate in change management processes
• Support special product releases in collaboration with procurement, production, operations, and R&D
• Contribute to quality assurance, supplier selection, and supplier development processes
• Conduct advanced quality planning (e.g., FMEA, QFS) during product development
• Ensure proper certification and calibration of measurement equipment
• Provide quality and process expertise across departments and support cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and global stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Control Systems, or a related field required
• Previous experience in product quality control preferred
• Knowledge of SAP preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
