Responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
  • Measuring and assembling ingredients for recipes. 
  • Preparing simple dishes like salads, appetizers, and sauces.
  • Ensuring proper food storage and compliance with sanitation guidelines. 
  • Assisting with inventory management.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Skills

  • Proficiency in knife skills and food preparation techniques
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Teamwork and communication skills

Examples of Tasks:

  • Chop vegetables for salads.
  • Prepare sauces by reducing ingredients
  • Parboil vegetables for later use.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes and equipment.
