Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and cooking menu items on the hot line, including grilling, frying, and sauteing
  • Following recipes and standard portion sizes
  • Ensuring food is cooked to the correct temperature and quality.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation
  • Restocking ingredients and supplies
  • Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

Skills:

  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and equipment 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain focus in a busy kitchen
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Teamwork and communication skills

Examples of tasks:

  • Cook grilled meats and vegetables to order
  • Prepare sauteed dishes and stir-fries
  • Fry food items like chicken nuggets or fries
  • Plate and garnish dishes for service
