Responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up and maintaining the buffet: This involves arranging food items, beverages, and service items according to established standards.
  • Restocking and replenishing food: Monitoring food levels and ensuring items are kept well-stocked throughout the service.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the buffet area: Keeping the area clean, orderly, and free from spills or debris. 
  • Assisting guests: Providing friendly and professional service, answering questions, and taking orders. 
  • Ensuring food temperature and quality: Maintaining optimal food temperatures and ensuring items are presented in a visually appealing manner. 
  • Following food handling and sanitation procedures: Adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Additional duties: Depending on the specific establishment, attendants may also be responsible for setting tables, clearing dishes, and assisting with other tasks.
