Job Title: Accountant


Responsibilities: 


  • Planning Ahead: Think forward, anticipate issues and plan for contingencies.

  • Following Procedures: Ensure that procedures, regulations, and policies are followed correctly.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Consult with others and encourage proactive communication within and across work groups with diverse personalities tactfully, maturely and with flexibility.
  • Showing Responsibility: Build awareness of responsibility to the bigger team beyond immediate work tasks and colleagues. 
  • Effective communication, written and verbal, with employees, residents, and management.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with dayto-day activities.
  • Regular and Predictable attendance. 
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. 
  • Ability to follow directives and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting; and Considerable experience in bookkeeping or accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Alabama State Driver’s License 
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to communicate effectively;
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to observe and monitor financial information in hardcopy or electronic form;
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to operate a personal computer;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to efficiently lift or move boxed office supplies and have access within the general office environment.
